Thrifty Florist is a family owned and operated floral design firm. Since starting business in 1989, Thrifty Florist has performed extremely well under the direction of CEO and Owner, Chris Rea. Nice expansion has occurred and now there are 16 locations throughout metro Detroit and surrounding areas. It is Michigan’s largest retail florist and one of the nations leading retailers of flowers and related floral gifts.

The first store was started on the Westside of Detroit at the corner of Grand River and Telegraph Road. We started by bringing in flowers by the truckload and selling them at unbeatable prices. We eliminated the middleman and passed the savings on to our customers.
When we bypassed the middleman, we found that we were selling fresher flowers than other florists in town; and much to our surprise, our flowers were even fresher than the local wholesalers in town. Customers, to this day, come in and comment about the freshness.
